When things go over your head

Modern life puts too much pressure on fragile human psyche. Endless duties and responsibilities pour down on us like rain making us run in circles day after day. As a result, we crumble under their weight and lose our mind, in some cases literally. That’s exactly what happened to the heroine of this painting. She’s got so much on her shoulders that there is simply no place left for her head. But how nice it feels to let go of all the problems and, most importantly, of the very place where they tend to accumulate! A few minutes without your head won’t hurt. That goes for all types of painting styles, including this one. So let’s take some time off in this strange and not quite anatomically accurate company.

The heroine of the painting:

-          Has no head, but has a watch.

-          Prefers smoking with minimum clothes on.

-          Isn’t burdened by eyes, nose, mouth or any other facial features (which is good given the cigarette in her hand – cancer concerns, you know…)

-          All that doesn’t seem to bother her, though. She feels quite comfortable and enjoys her headless time.

In a few minutes, this short break will end. She’ll have to put on her suit and get back to a dusty office. Or put on her bathrobe and get back to cleaning up. And even though the bathrobe scenario also suggests and idle, carefree life of a millionaire’s wife, that doesn’t mean it can’t make you tired. The head will land back on the shoulders together with the understanding of everything that’s going on in your life. And the blissful feeling of weightlessness and nonchalance will be gone. All the troubles will be piled back on you and you’ll have to return to endless problem solving… Until another time off…
