Your camera’s worst nightmare

The majority of people in the world have pets that differ in size, shape and breed, but are equally adorable and cherished. No wonder we like taking photos of them so much. However, this is a rather challenging process, because they just don’t want to sit still and wait until you make your perfect shot. These simple pet photography tips will help you catch the right moment and complete your mission.

Hunting for a perfect shot

·        Don’t be nervous - your pet will sense your emotions, and if you are anxious, it will become stressed as well. If you want your photo to be ideal, you should keep calm and enjoy the process.

·        Focus on the animal’s eyes, because they set the mood for the entire picture. If your pet’s eyes are sad, you will never get a good photo.

·        Think about the picture as a whole and make sure the setting is appropriate. If you see any unneeded stuff on the background, remove it immediately, for it will spoil the shot.

·        Take photos at the level of your pet’s eyes. You might need to lay down, or climb a high ladder, but such pictures will be more accurate and corresponding to reality.

·        Your pet may constantly change its posture, so you need to be flexible in order to follow it without abrupt moves.

·        Pay attention to the source of light. Diffused lighting will be optimal. This will help you get reflections in your pet’s eyes making the picture very alluring.

·        Remember that your furry model should be rewarded, either with its favorite treat, a toy, or simply your attention.

·        The best photos always tell a story, and you should also try to create one. There are so many emotions to express, you just need to find something though-provoking and compelling.

·        Try to keep silence while capturing your pet’s pose, because loud phrases may distract its attention. Use either non-verbal means of communication, or give the necessary commands in a low and calm voice.

·        Animals are sensitive to our moves, so you need to change your position very carefully. If your pet sees any quick moves, it will definitely want to follow you and the best shot will be spoilt.
