Refresh your surroundings

Sometimes our life becomes just too predictable and colorless. We see the same things around us and follow the same routine over and over again. Living in such an environment, we develop a desire to improve and add some colors to our days. House painting is something that can help you in solving this problem. You do not have to be a professional to make some changes in your interior or exterior. There is enough helpful and practical information that you can use to add some fresh bright accents to your home atmosphere. Following our simple tips, you can learn how to become a real maestro of home art in the circle of your friends and family!

How is it done?

1. Find your style

The first thing you should think of is the style that will suit your room design. Do you want to mix shapes and colors or should it be just a plane color without any relief? Depending on your preferences, you’ll have to purchase a filler, a primer, materials for shaping a smooth surface and also get some templates for modeling the volume shapes you want to use in your decor. Don’t be afraid to experiment You can always change everything and redo your walls any way you want!

2. Study the color spectrum

Any design is built around one or a few dominating colors distinguished by their value among the remaining tones. They define the mood of the room and can be used to emphasize certain areas. The shade and tone of the color will have an emotional impact on you so choose them carefully. Try to mix different colors in advance and apply a few strokes to the walls to make sure that they match your taste and choice. Don’t forget to check the density of the paint and its properties to burnout.

3. Stock up on materials and tools

Don’t buy cheep tools! You will need rollers of different sizes, sponges, brushes, mixing pails and other tools like a long portable handle that will make your work easier. You won’t have to use uncomfortable ladders anymore. Everything you need is to connect a roller to the handle. Get one that will match the height of your walls.

4. Minimize the mess

Painting walls is associated with dirty hands and clothes, messy floors and total dirt! Don’t worry, you can avoid all that, you just need to be prepared. Oilcloth and paint tape will protect your floors and corners and keep elements of decor safe. Rubber gloves and a polyester suit will save you from spoiled clothes and wasted time.

5. Store your materials safely

If you want to finish your work the next day and you still have a lot of materials left, just put your rollers into plastic bags and close them tight. Leave them in the fridge for a night and the next day you can use all this stuff again. It will never be spoiled, you’ll just have to wait for 30 minute before continuing.

Now you are a real interior designer! So go and paint!
